Jews break into al-Aqsa Mosque and confrontations erupt

A number of Jews broke into the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by Israeli forces armed with weapons, as the American Embassy moved to Jerusalem on the anniversary of Nakba Day.

According to media sources from Jerusalem that told Hawar news agency (ANHA), approximately 250 Israeli troops broke into the walls of al-Aqsa Mosque with some 1,600 Jews in order to pray, but Palestinian youths and sheikhs tried to prevent Jews from entering the mosque's inner courtyards.

Israeli forces have dealt with Palestinian youths with force and arrested several of them.

This number of Jews who have tried to enter the mosque, the largest number since 1967.

These developments coincide with the arrival of the US delegation to Israel to participate in the transfer ceremony of the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem, after the US President declared Jerusalem, the capital of Israel earlier.

Our correspondent in the Gaza Strip said that the Israeli forces intensified their military reinforcements along the border between the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-controlled territories in preparation for the demonstrations and rallies that will be launched on Nakba Day.
