Youth group joins HPG, vows to fight for freedom

In a statement, they declared their commitment to "fight against the genocidal attacks against the Kurdish people."

The statement begins:  "A dirty war is being waged against women and youth in Kurdistan, alongside the isolation imposed on leader Ocalan, with the intent of plunging our society back into darkness and slavery as it was 40 years ago. Today, we see the fascist Turkish regime conducting genocidal attacks in all directions across Kurdistan, waging an immoral special war particularly against women and youth. They are banning our language, culture, and identity. We know that we can live without bread and water, but we cannot live without our language, culture, and identity."

The statement continues: "Based on this, we, the sons and daughters of the Kurdish and Middle Eastern people, announce our joining the ranks of the Freedom Fighters of Kurdistan in response to the call of our party, the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), to confront betrayal, treachery, and occupation."

The youth pledged to fight "until the last drop of our blood against the occupying enemy, and we will continue our struggle to achieve freedom."
