Young man killing in Idlib enrages al-Bagara tribe

Elders and dignitaries of al-Bagara tribe expressed their condemnation of the incident in which a young man was killed and another injured in the eastern countryside of Idlib, stressing that the incident has angered the tribe and called for those involved to be held accountable.

The sheikhs and dignitaries of al-Bagara al-Hashimiya tribe issued a statement in which they expressed their anger and condemnation towards the incident of killing a young man and wounding another in Abo al-Dhhoor area in Idlib western countryside.

The statement indicated that a group of armed men from a clan ambushed a young man from al-Boashi caln (one of al-Bagara tribe branch) in Harmaleh farm, which resulted in killing one of them and injuring another, in addition to assaulting about 20 young men who were accompanying them, before the assailants fled.

The statement confirmed that the incident was not individual; however, it came on the background of previous tensions, noting that the incident was planned for in advance; it was not by accident.

The tribal sheikhs requested the concerned authorities in the Interim Government to immediately intervene and hold those involved accountable, whose number ranges about 10 people, warning that glossing over them may escalate tensions and threat civil peace in the area.
