US congressman praises SDF's efforts in establishing new model for Syria’s future

US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh stated that negotiations between the transitional government in Syria, the Syrian forces, and the residents of NE Syria will resume in Paris with the support of the Trump administration this month, stressing that the SDF is a key element in Syria's future

US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh held a video call with the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi, and Rohlat Afrin, a member of the General Command of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ).

US Congressman Abraham Hamadeh posted on the social media platform X, stating, "For more than a decade, the SDF has protected the northeastern third of Syria and established a decentralized model that ensures the protection of Christians, Arabs, Kurds, and others."

He added that negotiations between Damascus and the SDF will resume in Paris, with the support of the Trump administration, this month.

The US Congress stated that the US continues to maintain open channels with all parties in Syria.

And expressed his gratitude to General Mazloum Abdi and the transitional government in Syria for their continued cooperation in the search for the remains of American citizen Kayla Mueller, enabling her to finally be buried in her home state of Arizona.
