Traffic employees join strike of teachers in southern Kurdistan

Traffic employees in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in southern Kurdistan went on strike in government institutions, due to the authorities’ continued failure to pay salaries.

Today, the employees of the Sulaymaniyah Governorate Traffic Directorate in southern Kurdistan announced a strike, and the work and transactions of citizens in the department have stopped at the present time, due to the non-payment of salaries.

Day after day, the anger and dissatisfaction of employees in southern Kurdistan is increasing and the scope of the employees’ strike from work in government institutions dominated by the authorities of the Kurdistan Democratic Party is increasing, due to the failure to pay the monthly salaries owed by the government for months.

According to Roj News, employees of the Sulaymaniyah Governorate Traffic Directorate joined the protests organized as part of the teachers’ strike.

The government of South Kurdistan did not pay employees’ salaries for the previous 3 months last year, and the fate of this month’s salary is still unknown.
