South Korea launches largest arms fair over its history with broad international participation

South Korea opened its largest arms exhibition in its history on Friday, with companies expected to showcase their latest drones and weapons enhanced with artificial intelligence technology.

The Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADEX 2025) kicked off in South Korea on Friday, which is considered the country's largest arms show, with hundreds of local and international companies participation.

Reuters reported that the exhibition organizers reported that approximately 600 companies from 35 countries are participating in this year's edition, which focuses on showcasing the latest technologies in drones and AI-enhanced weapons, as part of Seoul's efforts to enhance its defense capabilities and increase military exports.

The exhibition began with air displays from a military base, including flights by newly developed KF-21 fighter jets.

Yonhap News Agency reported that the exhibition is expected to attract approximately 30,000 visitors, including more than 114 military and defense officials from 55 countries.

Activities are scheduled to continue next week with trade shows held at a dedicated convention center in the capital, Seoul.
