PYD, ENKS discuss recent developments

Today, a meeting was held in the city of Hasakah, between the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) to discuss the latest developments.

It was attended by the Democratic Union Party, the party’s co-chair, Gharib Hasso, a member of the joint presidency, Aldar Khalil, and a member of the Relations Office, Kamal Akef. As for the Kurdish National Council in Syria, the council’s president, Mohammad Ismail, the official spokesman, Faisal Youssef, and the two leaders, Fasla Youssef and Neamat Daoud, attended.

During the meeting, which was held closed to the media, the recent developments and attacks targeting the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo were evaluated, and a unified position was agreed upon.

According to the information we obtained from the participants in the meeting, the two parties stressed the need for the people of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods to remain in their neighborhoods and manage their affairs themselves, within the framework of the April 1 agreement.

The participants in the meeting also drew attention to the importance of implementing the March 10 Agreement, and agreed on the necessity of resolving the Kurdish issue within the framework of this agreement.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue their dialogue and consultations.
