Interim government cuts off electricity to Deir Hafer; its villages

The interim government in Syria cut off the electricity supply to the city of Deir Hafer and its surrounding villages, which belong to the Tabqa canton, 3 days ago, coinciding with military build-ups of its mercenaries supported by the Turkish occupation state on the outskirts of the region, in a step that increased the suffering of the people who have been facing an ongoing escalation for days.

The city of Deir Hafer and its villages are supplied with electricity from the thermal station located near the city of Al-Safira in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, which is located within the areas of the Interim Government. The power cut led to the paralysis of basic services, at a time when the city and its countryside are subjected to continuous artillery and drone bombardment.

The targets focused on vital institutions, including:

Deir Hafer bakery, which produces about 13,500 loaves of bread daily, is distributed to more than 17,000 families in the city and its countryside, the postal center, the fodder center, in addition to populated civilian homes.

This double escalation, cutting off electricity and bombing institutions, exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in Deir Hafer and its countryside, where people have been deprived of bread, electricity, and basic services.
