The activity of the sit-in tent and hunger strike by the people of a number of cities in al-Jazira canton in front of the international coalition base in Qasrak, north of the city of al-Hasakah, continues on its fifth day until their demands are implemented aimed at stopping the attacks and massacres committed against the people of northern and eastern Syria, and holding the perpetrators of the massacres and violations in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo accountable.

Today, citizens from the cities of Hasakah and those displaced from the occupied city of Serêkaniyê, who were protesting and on a hunger strike until death, visited the Kurdish woman Sedem Muhammad, who began a hunger strike until death on January 11, denouncing the international silence regarding the massacres being committed against the Kurds.

Banners were hung on the tent that read, “We are not guards for ISIS prisons - we fought terrorism on behalf of the world - today our rights were taken away, where is the conscience of the international community,” and other slogans emphasizing the hunger strike until death unless the international coalition responds to the Kurdish issue.

Our agency monitored the opinions of the protesters, who expressed their anger at the international silence regarding the massacres and violations.

Citizen Idris Abdel Aziz pointed out that the attacks and massacres committed against the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh by the mercenaries of the Interim Government affiliated with the Turkish occupation state are met with international silence and turning a blind eye.

He added: "The interim government also committed brutal massacres against Alawites and Druze inside Syria, which it is committing today against the Kurdish people. Our only option is to resist and defend ourselves until the last breath."

In turn, the young man, Bashar Shehadeh, from the people of the city of Al-Hasakah, confirmed that their demands today from the international coalition are to hold accountable the perpetrators of the massacres against the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, and pointed out that the sit-in will continue until the massacres stop and the mercenaries are held accountable.

Meanwhile, citizen Jamila Haj Khatib, who was displaced from the occupied city of Serêkaniyê, said: “We will not accept the massacres committed against the Kurdish people by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and the interim government,” calling on the international community to stop the attacks and guarantee the rights of those displaced from the occupied areas for a safe return to their homes.
