Passengers traffic resumes on Tabqa-Salamiyah road after 14-day hiatus

Dozens of passenger buses and private cars headed from areas in North and East Syria to the Syrian interior and vice versa after the Transitional Government Forces reopened the road to passenger traffic following a two-week closure.

The Transitional Government Forces stationed at Zakiya Junction checkpoint near the town of Athriya in the Hama countryside prevented passenger buses from passing to and from North and East Syria on the Tabqa-Salamiyah road in Syria on October 5.

The permission for passage comes amid a complete absence of an official narrative from the Transitional Government and its media outlets, which have ignored the road closure to thousands of travelers throughout the past period.

No official clarification has yet been issued by the Transitional Government in Syria regarding whether the road opening is permanent or temporary.

In the same context, the Transitional Government Forces have continued to close the Deir Hafer-Aleppo road, a vital artery for the region's residents, since September 27, as they are still erecting earthen barriers and completely blocking the road to this moment.
