Student Yaqoub Bermo was killed and his comrade Issam Deqqu was paralyzed by a bullet fired by a member of the Transitional Government Forces in the city of al-Tel in the Damascus countryside, while they were at their workplace, according to local sources.

The Sharia High School for Boys in al-Tel mourned the death of its student, Yaqoub, on its Facebook webpage.

According to the sources, the two young men were installing an internet network at a site belonging to the Transitional Government's Security Forces when a bullet "accidentally" was fired from one of the members' weapons, hitting Yaqoub in the neck and penetrating his body to wound his comrade Issam seriously, leaving him paralyzed, according to the hospital where he was taken to.

This sparked a wave of public anger and questions on social media, as activists called for "full transparency" and for holding those responsible for the incident accountable.
