The Democratic Union Party (PYD), in coordination with the Council of Notables in North and East Syria, held an expanded meeting today in the Jazira Canton in the city of Qamishli to discuss the latest political developments. The meeting was held under the slogan "With the legacy of the martyrs, we will build a free, democratic society."

The meeting, held in the Zana Hall, was attended by notables and tribal sheikhs from North and East Syria, along with representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the Internal Security Forces, the Democratic Autonomous Administration, political parties, civil society organizations, Kongra Star, the Democratic Islam Conference, and intellectuals and activists.

Aldar Khalil, a member of the Democratic Union Party's (PYD) co-presidency, emphasized that efforts to unify Kurdish ranks have been ongoing since 2013 despite the challenges. He pointed to the holding of a conference to unify the Kurdish position and reach a political document that seeks to consolidate Kurdish rights within the framework of a decentralized Syria shared by all.

Khalil explained that their demand is not for secession or partition, but rather for the building of a shared homeland that accommodates all and guarantees the rights of all components. He emphasized the need to use the term "Syrian Republic" instead of "Syrian Arab Republic" so that all Syrians feel a sense of belonging to this homeland.

He also revealed the intention of a delegation from the Autonomous Administration, including Kurdish representatives, to travel to Damascus in the coming days to present a political document aimed at finding a common democratic solution. He emphasized the importance of drafting a new constitution that represents all Syrians, not just one sect or group.

In conclusion Khalil affirmed that the PKK's armed struggle will move into a new phase, characterized by political struggle and official dialogue. He emphasized the continuation of the Apoist ideology as a deeply rooted popular movement, relying on the strength of the democratic project and the brotherhood of peoples.

This meeting comes amid regional developments and ongoing efforts by Kurdish parties to strengthen their political presence in the Syrian arena, seeking just and comprehensive solutions that guarantee recognition of the rights of all Syrian components within a decentralized, democratic state.
