Honoring participants in Tishrin Dam resistance
The Ain Issa City Council honored the popular delegations that participated in the resistance at the Tishrin Dam, affirming that the resistance achieved its goals by repelling the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
Popular delegations from all regions of North and East Syria took part in defending the Tishrin Dam during attacks by the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries over a period of 118 days. The participants protected the dam by taking shifts to guard it against the assaults.
After the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria declared the victory of the popular resistance and the achievement of its goals in thwarting the aggression and its plans, the Ain Issa City Council honored those who participated in the resistance and supported the Syrian Democratic Forces. They were presented with commemorative shields bearing images of the civilian martyrs who had martyred on the dam.
Sabri Nabo, the Co-chair of the Ain Issa City Council, praised “the great resistance at the Tishrin Dam,” describing it as the third legendary resistance after Kobani and Afrin, and the first of its kind as a popular movement driven by the spirit of revolutionary people's war.
He noted that this resistance broke the occupier and foiled its plans to seize more Syrian territory.
