Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that he held talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressing developments in the Middle East, particularly efforts to end the war in Iran, as well as the Ukrainian file.

In a post on the platform X, Macron explained that the discussions initially focused on the regional situation, where both sides called on all parties to adhere to a ceasefire and work to ensure its implementation, particularly in Lebanon. They also stressed the need to respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, given its vital importance for global trade flows.
