The thought that Leader Abdullah Ocalan has entrenched in their minds cannot be eliminated, the occupier will not succeed no matter how much he tries to do so, and the freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is inevitably close by escalating the struggle and following in the footsteps of the martyrs.

The Turkish occupation authorities are still not responding to requests from lawyers and the family of leader Abdullah Ocalan to meet with him, despite their insistence on doing so by submitting 16 requests every month.

The situation of the women in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood is no different from the situation of the lawyers and the leader’s relatives, in terms of their tireless and regular demands for his physical freedom through various means, stressing that his thought is the only truth for living in freedom and peace.

Citizen Najma Muslim Jammo, from Kobani, lives in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood. She is the mother of YPJ activist Jan Vida, who joined in late 2020. She stressed the achievement of leader Abdullah Ocalan’s physical freedom, and said: “By peace or war, we will achieve his physical freedom.”

Najma Muslim explained: “The leader fought for us, for the truth and our freedom, and we will not stop demanding his physical freedom until we achieve that.”

As for Samira Jammo, she said: “For 26 years, the leader has been in detention, and there has been no information about him for three years. The Turkish occupier prevents his family and his lawyer from visiting him, and we insist on hearing news about him and checking on his condition.”

Samira Jammo expressed her concern and said: "We are concerned about his health. We want him near us and not surrounded by the walls of the prison. He is more deserving of freedom and we are more worthy of seeing him and living among us. We will resist until we achieve that and we will not retreat a step from following in the footsteps of our martyrs to be worthy of what he gave us."

Samira Jammo explained: "Victory will be ours because we have rights and freedom befits us. We will organize ourselves and train according to the leader's approach. The leader saved us from heedlessness and revealed to us the true face of the occupier and the ruling regimes. Without him, we would not have been able to achieve gains."

A leader's physical freedom must be a priority

In her turn, Ziza Hassan Habash, who met the leader in 1997 in Lebanon, said: “The leader resisted for us and sacrificed his life for us. We must give greater importance to our work, and the leader’s physical freedom must be one of our priorities.”

We must bear the responsibility for achieving his physical freedom and make it one of our priorities.”

Ziza Habash took her place within the Council of Martyrs’ Families and now continues her work in the reconciliation committee in the two communes. She said: “I will continue my work on the idea and philosophy of the leader, no matter how much the occupier tries to break our will, he will not succeed, because whoever receives training from him, it is impossible to break his will even if the whole world comes together against him.”

Ziza Habash noted the role of unity in achieving goals: “We will unite and, together, we will work to achieve his physical freedom. What we have presented to the leader so far is only the tip of the iceberg of his resistance. The leader’s thought is the right and true thought.”

Ziza, mother of the martyr Nidal Jammo, nom de guerre Siban, was martyred in the ranks of the People's Defense Forces HPG in 2004.
