A member of the presidential body of the Democratic Union Party and a member of the Abdullah Ocalan Academy of Social Sciences, Aldar Khalil, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Khalil shed light on the nation’s democratic system, stressing the importance of training and the role of universities in achieving the intellectual revolution. Khalil added: “During 12 years of the revolution, we have achieved many gains, but the intellectual and mental revolution is a revolution with unlimited scope, and for this reason we stress the importance of continuing the intellectual revolution and practicing it in the correct way.”

Khalil spoke about the social contract in North and East Syria and added: “The system in which we currently work is based on communes and people’s councils, that is, in short, everyone who lives on this land, regardless of their cultures, races, and nationalities, are the owners of this system and every individual must adopt this democratic system.” Therefore, the task of changing society falls primarily on the shoulders of teachers.

Aldar Khalil also mentioned during his speech that the democratic nation, as a project of leader Abdullah Ocalan, is the only and main alternative in the face of capitalist modernity.
