The people of Suwayda continue their protests demanding political change, as dozens gathered in Karama Square in the center of the city, raising slogans expressing their demands from the ongoing protests since last August.

The protesters’ banners were written with phrases such as: “No one is above the law,” “Religion is for God and the homeland is for everyone,” and “Our peace is our path to salvation.”

In this context, the Suwayda 24 website reported that several security vehicles carrying machine guns entered Suwayda, passing through the village of al-Soura al-Kabira, without mentioning other details.

This comes at a time when several media reports reported that the military security apparatus affiliated with the Damascus government forces was preparing for a military campaign to enter Suwayda and arrest those responsible for organizing protests against the Damascus government, which are demanding political change and the release of detainees.
