Professor Nawfal Rashid Hussein, a Kurdish scientist, has been ranked the top infectious disease researcher in Iraq, according to the Scientific Index, a global website specializing in evaluating researchers and academic institutions.

According to the ranking, Professor Nawfal achieved a high global ranking in the field of infectious diseases, reflecting the growing presence of Kurdish scientific talent in medicine and scientific research.

Professor Nawfal is a professor and dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Zakho in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He has published dozens of studies and research papers in the fields of infectious diseases, virology, and hepatitis, in addition to research related to bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

This ranking is considered one of the most prominent scientific indicators, based on the volume of published research, academic citations, and the international scientific impact of researchers.
