Kongra Star: Kurdish women are living force of revolution
Kongra Star sent a message to the conference of Kurdish Women’s Unity Platform held in Amed, emphasizing the necessity of building national unity under women's leadership. The message stated: "Today, Kurdish women are the living force of the spirit of revolution. This conference must become a foundation for women to shoulder and implement their historical responsibilities."

The third conference of Kurdish Women’s Unity Platform was launched under the slogan: "With the Unity of Kurdish Women Toward National Unity", and was held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city of Amed, in Northern Kurdistan. The hall was decorated with banners displaying the slogan "Jin, Jiyan, Azadî" (Women, Life, Freedom) in the Sorani, Kirmanckî, Kurmanci dialects of Kurdish language.
Kongra Star sent a message to the conference stressing the need to strengthen the role of women and their historical responsibilities in achieving and ensuring national unity.
The message reads:
"We, Kongra Star from Rojava Kurdistan, the fortress of resistance and the ground of the women's revolution, send our warmest congratulations to your conference and extend our heartfelt greetings to all the delegates, wishing you continued success and progress. We reaffirm our loyalty to the memory of all the martyrs of Kurdistan.
We hope this conference will result in meaningful decisions that enable you to hold a national women's conference and implement Kurdish national unity. We believe that the convening of your conference represents a pivotal moment in the Kurdish people's struggle, a deep voice attesting that Kurdish women have never been on the margins of history, but have always been at the core and foundation of revolution.
Your conference is taking place during an emotional and sensitive period, as our Kurdish people are experiencing a historic moment that does not allow for hesitation or retreat. One hundred years have passed since the Treaty of Lausanne, which divided Kurdistan. Today, dominant powers are once again attempting to redraw the map of the region, posing a direct threat to our future. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for you to actively shape the coming phase. This is a historical responsibility that falls upon all women. The current phase does not call for symbolic female presence, but for real leadership grounded in organization, strategy, and unity — a path toward shared self-determination.
We hold great hope for your conference, for Kurdish women who stood up to fascism and occupation and resisted the terror of ISIS must not stop at moments of sacrifice. They must also lead this stage and realize the project of national unity so that they become the main pillar of Kurdish national unity. Your honorable stance in support of Rojava and your firm positions in the face of threats are the cornerstone of Kurdistan’s unity and confirm that the Kurdish people’s struggle is tied to a unified and comprehensive project.
We hope this conference will be a practical step toward holding a national women's conference uniting all parts of Kurdistan, from Bashur (Southern Kurdistan) to Rojava, from Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) to Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan). This would ensure the protection of gains made so far, their development, and the strengthening of solidarity and unity in the face of upcoming challenges. Today, the call for Kurdish women to take the initiative with a free vision is growing stronger. Because women are the beginning of transformation, the torch of revolution, and the guarantee of the people’s freedom. The struggle of women is the key to freedom, democracy, and national unity. Joint work among women is the path to a homeland that enjoys all its rights and freedoms.
The call for peace and democracy will pave the way for the rise of women. Therefore, women must take a pioneering role as builders of peace and democracy. We have paid a heavy price to reach this stage, and thus this conference must serve as a response to the dreams of the martyrs of Kurdistan and carry the legacy of their struggle for national unity. We, as women, with our words, actions, efforts, and courage are committed to being the builders of national unity and the guarantors of women’s rightful place in this critical phase.
We are certain that this historic conference will meet the demands of this stage and stand as a powerful milestone on the road to our people’s liberation and the protection of the gains of the women’s struggle. We send you revolutionary greetings, wish you success and progress, and reaffirm our support and solidarity with your efforts."
After the letter was read aloud, the conference proceeded with the election of the board and continued its work behind closed doors, away from the media.
