Jazira Women's Authority participates in Damascus seminar marking World Population Day

Following the completion of the institutional integration process, the Jazira Women's Authority participated in a panel discussion organized by the Syrian Commission for Family and Population, affiliated with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, in Damascus to mark World Population Day.

The authority was represented by its Chair, Rohat Khalil, and Deputy Chairs Narjis Youssef and Wasaif Dandah, alongside Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Kabawat.

The seminar brought together representatives from the United Nations, humanitarian organizations, and civil society institutions. Participants discussed key population issues and the challenges associated with them, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation among relevant parties to address these challenges.

The discussions also focused on young people's aspirations and hopes for building a future that meets their ambitions, emphasizing the importance of involving youth in shaping population and development policies and programs.

The event marked the Jazira Women's Authority's first official participation since it announced on July 15 the completion of its integration with the Commission for Family and Population under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The move forms part of the implementation of the Jan. 29 agreement on completing the institutional integration process among several commissions and administrations, in accordance with the understandings reached between the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Interim Government.
