The website also noted that Israeli security agencies held several consultations last week to discuss developments in Syria. According to these sources, the Damascus government is working to restore military bases and enhance missile and defense capabilities in the south, near Israel.

According to "Walla," the sources pointed to Syrian-Turkish communications regarding the transfer of areas near Palmyra to the Turkish army in exchange for economic and military support for Damascus. They emphasized that Turkey’s potential moves in Palmyra, central Syria, are causing significant Israeli concerns.

Channel 12 Hebrew reported that Netanyahu, through his advisors, is pushing Israeli media to emphasize that "a confrontation with Turkey on Syrian territory is inevitable."

It is worth mentioning that a recent Israeli government committee report recommended that Netanyahu prepare for a potential war with Turkey, in light of Tel Aviv’s growing concerns over Ankara’s alliance with the Damascus government following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the "Security Budget and Force Building Review Committee," known as the "Nagel Committee" after its chairman Yaakov Nagel, warned Netanyahu in its report last January about the dangers of a Syrian-Turkish alliance. The report stated that such an alliance could "create a new and significant threat to Israel’s security," potentially evolving into something "more dangerous than the Iranian threat."

The committee concluded that Israel must prepare for a direct confrontation with Turkey in light of potential tensions due to what it described as "Turkey’s ambitions to restore its Ottoman influence."
