Israel approves bill allowing execution of Palestinians

In a move that has sparked sharp criticism, the Israeli Knesset approved today a bill that could allow the execution of Palestinians convicted of “terrorism”-related charges linked to deadly attacks. A total of 62 lawmakers voted in favor of the bill, while 48 opposed it.

The bill passed with support from 62 members, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, against 48 votes. One lawmaker abstained, while others were absent. The proposal was defended by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
