Internal Security announces the failure of a suicide attack targeting Haskah city

A statement by the Media Center of the Internal Security Forces - North and East Syria stated that their forces responded and thwarted a suicide attack by ISIS mercenaries that was targeting the city of al-Hasakah.

The statement stated:

“In conjunction with the fascist Turkish occupation’s targeting of our areas and its targeting of our forces in Kobani, ISIS is taking advantage of these targeting and increasing its activity to carry out terrorist acts, as it detonated a car bomb yesterday in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and it was also planning to carry out terrorist operations in al-Hasakah, where the General Security Service obtained information confirms the planning of a terrorist operation in al-Hasakah, using suicide bombers and a motorcycle, so that our forces in the General Security Service will carry out investigations and follow-up operations to reach them before carrying out the terrorist act.

The Public Security Service was able to monitor the motorcycle today, Tuesday, June 4, on which two people were riding, wearing two explosive belts, and set up a precise ambush for them in the al-Hasakah countryside. Immediately after the terrorists were ambushed and opened fire on them, the two terrorists took the initiative to blow themselves up and blow up the motorcycle.

In its statement, the Internal Security Forces affirmed their “full commitment to confronting everything that threatens society in order to preserve the security and stability of our people.”
