Intellectuals Deir-ez-Zor confirm that Security Enhancement conference is to avoid previous hurdles 

Intellectuals from Deir ez-Zor described the conference on Security Enhancement and Stability, which was held in Deir ez-Zor, as a “path to correcting mistakes,” and stressed that it is of great importance in changing for the better in Deir ez-Zor in all fields. political, social, economic and security,” and stressed the need to begin implementing the conference’s outcomes as soon as possible.

On October 22, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria AANES and the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council held a conference to listen to the opinions and demands of the people of Deir ez-Zor, with broad participation from segments of Deir ez-Zor society, including intellectuals, tribal and clan notables, and jurists, under the title “Conference on Security Enhancement and Stability towards Developing and Consolidating Participation in Deir ez-Zor.

In this regard, ANHA agency monitored the opinions of a number of participating Deir ez-Zor intellectuals to evaluate the conference, as a member of the Deir ez-Zor Lawyers Union, Ahmed Al-Karraf, considered it a path to correct mistakes in light of the circumstances witnessed in the Deir ez-Zor regions in particular.

He said: "This conference came after a number of meetings held by the Autonomous Administration with the people of Deir ez-Zor based on the desire of the notables and people of the region, with the aim of developing solutions and listening to the opinions of the people."

Al-Karraf pointed out, "If the outcomes resulting from the conference are fully and correctly implemented, the work will be organized and trust between the Autonomous Administration and the people will be strengthened, and security, stability, and participation in Deir ez-Zor in general will be enhanced."

In his turn, Ali Al-Hammadi, a member of civil society organizations in Deir ez-Zor, said about the conference, “Through the conference, the opinions and demands of the people of Deir ez-Zor were listened to, and the service, economic, and security situation was discussed. There were many proposals, all of which were taken into consideration, and if implemented, the region will witness great prosperity.”

Al-Hammadi explained, "There are many outcomes of the conference, all of which will achieve great success if implemented. There will be change and avoidance of previous mistakes. There will be change in Deir ez-Zor, and the security reality in the region will be improved."

For his part, one of Deir ez-Zor’s intellectuals, Mohammad Al-Ali, pointed out that the conference included all segments of Deir ez-Zor society, saying, “The conference on Security Enhancement and Stability included all segments of society, including intellectuals, politicians, sheikhs, tribal notables, and farmers. This is a positive step and an opportunity to listen to all opinions and proposals.”

Al-Ali stated, “According to the conference outcomes, a time period was set to implement the conference outcomes and decisions, and these outcomes will have a positive role in developing the service, economic, and social reality, especially the security situation.”

The conference on Security Enhancement and Stability towards developing and consolidating participation in Deir ez-Zor resulted in a number of decisions, most notably the restructuring of the local, legislative, executive and municipal councils and the reorganization of the Internal Security Forces and the Deir ez-Zor Military Council, within a maximum period of 6 months.

Before holding the conference to Security Enhancement and Stability, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria AANES held a series of mass meetings with the people of Deir ez-Zor, during which it listened to the opinions of the people with the aim of developing the civil administration in Deir ez-Zor and security enhancement in the region.
