The Women's Protection Forces (HPJ) in East Kurdistan announced their support for the campaign demanding official recognition of the Women's Protection Units (YPJ) and their inclusion in the integration process, as stipulated in the January 29th Agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government in Syria.

This stance comes as part of the campaign launched by the Joint Events Platform of Women's Movements and Organizations in Rojava on April 26th, under the slogan, "We are all YPJ, YPJ represents us."

The statement, reported and translated by the Firat News Agency (ANF), included the following:

"YPJ has become a unique symbol not only for the peoples of Syria and the Kurds, but for all supporters of freedom.

The failure of the Syrian transitional government to officially recognize the YPJ in fact means rejecting democracy and freedom. Having played a leading role in the struggle against ISIS and becoming a symbol of women’s freedom, YPJ has always been a pioneer of democracy and equality in Syria.

With the denial of the YPJ’s existence, the revolutionary achievements in North and East Syria are also being endangered and losing their essence. For this reason, we declare our support for YPJ, the symbol of freedom and the true defender of the revolution of the peoples of Syria.

With all our strength, we will stand with the YPJ and say, ‘We are also YPJ.’ In this important process, our call to supporters of freedom and everyone who sees themselves as part of the struggle for an equal and democratic world is this: Stand with YPJ.

This issue is not merely the problem of one region; it is a matter that will affect the future of the Middle East and even the world."
