Iranian authorities deny 8 female political prisoners family, lawyer visits

Kulrokh Iraee, a political activist currently detained in Evin Prison reported that Iranian authorities have denied eight female political prisoners the right to meet with their families and lawyers, according to a post she shared on her page on the X platform.

The Women's News Agency (NUJINHA) cited its sources as stating that the prisoners subject to this decision are Shiva Esmaeili, Kulrokh Iraee, Sakineh Parvaneh, Forough Taghipour, Zahra Safaei, Marzieh Farsi, Elaheh Fouladi, and Warisha Moradi.

This measure is being implemented against the backdrop of Iranian authorities tightening security protocols within Evin Prison, as well as an escalation in repressive treatment toward female prisoners participating in collective activities and protests inside the facility.

The agency further reported that several female political prisoners who were recently transferred to the prison have faced threats from guards and security forces, stemming from their participation in protest events within the detention center.
