HPG announced that Turkish occupation forces carried out 9,790 attacks

The People's Defense Forces (HPG) revealed the toll of attacks carried out by the Turkish occupation army during the month of April in a statement, which read:

The Kurdistan Freedom Gêrîla, who embody the hope for a free future for our people, responded to the historic call of Leader Apo by declaring a ceasefire on March 1, 2025.  In the two months following the statement issued by our leadership at the Central Command of the People's Defense Forces, all our units have adhered to the ceasefire decision.  Thus, the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas have met the demands of this critical phase with immense patience and self-sacrifice.

The Turkish occupation army exploited the months of March and April, during which the ceasefire declared by the Kurdistan Freedom Gêrîla was in effect, as an opportunity.  They focused on unethical methods and insisted on the concept of annihilation.  Despite mobilizing all their forces, they failed to break the historic resistance of the Gêrîla fighters and were defeated in confrontations in the western Zap area, considered the center of Zap.  Following this defeat, the Turkish occupation army intensified its attacks on trenches and tunnels in the resistance zones.  In response, the Kurdistan Freedom Gêrîla appropriately countered these assaults within the framework of legitimate defense, preventing the occupiers from advancing.  Unable to overcome this formidable resistance, the occupiers resorted once again to the use of chemical weapons, prohibited explosives, and banned phosphorus bombs against our forces, thereby violating the standards of warfare.

They have become a source of honor and dignity for our people

The occupiers, confronted by the fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in every inch of the sacred land of Kurdistan, failed to achieve their objectives, despite attacking guerrilla resistance zones with technology capable of destroying cities.  Our comrades Basi and Mitra, who were martyred as a result of the chemical attack launched by the Turkish occupation army, and our comrades Khabat, Goran, and Agid, who fought and resisted the occupiers until their last breath despite their injuries, raised the flag of victory for the PKK and the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Party as representatives of the strong Apoist will, becoming a source of honor and dignity for our people.

The Kurdistan Freedom Gêrîla in Northern Kurdistan, as in the legitimate defense zones, have successfully implemented the Gêrîla model of democratic modernity in practice.  They thwarted dozens of operations launched by the occupiers, involving thousands of soldiers and advanced warfare technology.  Our professional Gêrîla teams, who applied modern professional methods and tactics, did not incur any losses in Northern Kurdistan.

The Kurdistan Freedom Gêrîla, who adopted the principle that "the greatest technology is the human being himself," confronted the occupiers in the skies of Kurdistan as well.  Even under difficult and challenging conditions, they delivered severe blows to the occupiers' boasted technology, preventing them from entering by land or air.

The occupation attacked with chemical weapons, prohibited explosives, and internationally banned phosphorus bombs.

Once again, the Turkish occupation army committed war crimes against our forces, using chemical weapons, phosphorus bombs, and internationally banned explosives seven times.  They attempted to destroy our resistance tunnels using bulldozers, bombed our areas 76 times with warplanes, 12 times with attack helicopters, twice with suicide drones, and 9,693 times with heavy weapons and artillery shells.

Repelling occupation attacks 17 times.

Our forces, based on legitimate defense, repelled the occupiers' attacks 17 times.  As a result, one occupation soldier was killed, and five others were injured.  Additionally, a tank, two armored vehicles, two surveillance camera systems, artillery, two suicide drones, and a jamming device were destroyed.  Furthermore, an armored vehicle, a container, and a truck were targeted, and a drone was seized.

Our four comrades were martyred in April, having defended the sacred land of Kurdistan against the occupiers with great self-sacrifice.  They fought with a spirit of selflessness, becoming the honor and dignity of our people and leaving the banner of struggle to us and their comrades.  Once again, we remember our immortal martyrs, who are our past, present, and future, with love, respect, and gratitude.
