While some transitional justice experiences have succeeded and others have faltered in Arab and foreign countries, a key question remains: Will Syria learn from the experiences of others to build a comprehensive transitional justice process that contributes to reconciliation and stability, or will it risk repeating the mistakes that hindered and ultimately undermined such efforts elsewhere?

Owners of agricultural land in the Alyan region, in the countryside of Çil Axa, have renewed their demands to reclaim lands confiscated under former Ba'ath Party policies.
