Writer and political activist Sharif Al-Muqt stated that talk of democracy in Syria, under the current reality, seems far from achievable. He pointed out that the nature of the existing authority and the worsening sectarian and religious divisions hinder any genuine path toward building a democratic state based on citizenship and the rule of law. Farmers in the countryside of Jal Agha expressed dissatisfaction with the price set by the Ministry of Economy and Industry in the Syrian Interim Government for purchasing wheat for the 2026 season. They confirmed that the price does not cover production costs and constitutes injustice against farmers, warning that the continuation of such policies will push many to abandon agriculture and threaten the country’s food security. Residents of Umm al-Keif village, west of Tel Tamr, have gradually begun returning to their destroyed homes following the decline in tensions and the improvement of the security situation after the January 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Interim Government. The spokesperson for the Kurdish Language Institution confirmed that the current education system does not need changes and does not conflict with the integration process, adding that they have not received any instructions to alter the curricula.
