The framework law was approved by the Turkish Parliament on August 10 by a historic majority of votes, and one week has now passed since its approval. During this week, two important meetings came to the forefront. 

Residents of villages in the Alyan area of the Jal Agha countryside are facing a decline in the level of public services following the suspension of several municipal projects scheduled for this year. This comes amid the continuation of administrative integration measures and the suspension of financial allocations, raising residents’ concerns that service conditions may deteriorate further as winter approaches. In the village of Baterzan in the Alyan area, affiliated with the Jal Agha subdistrict, young man Dildar Rashid has turned his profession as a barber into a free humanitarian initiative for the children of his village. He cuts their hair free of charge amid the village’s natural surroundings, helping residents avoid the burden and expense of traveling to cities for haircuts while providing children with moments of joy and happiness. Displaced residents of Sere Kaniyeh/ Ras al-Ain living in the city of Tel Tamer have called for protection and guarantees for those returning to their city, following attacks on some displaced people from the first return convoy.
