Hasaka declares general mobilization as services continue

The general mobilization continues in the city of Hasaka, as in other areas of the Jazira and Euphrates regions, amid a state of popular and security alert. Residents continue to participate in protecting their neighborhoods and cooperating with the relevant authorities to maintain stability. In parallel, service institutions continue their work to ensure the provision of basic needs for residents, sending a message that the state of mobilization is not limited to the security aspect alone, but also includes protecting daily life and strengthening community resilience in the face of challenges.

In this context, the co-chair of the Hasaka City Council, Farouq Tozo, stated that the city of Hasaka is living under a state of emergency due to the attacks occurring in the region and its surroundings, in addition to the intimidation of city residents on social media platforms by electronic trolls, with the aim of displacing residents and breaking their will.

Residents Protect Their Neighborhoods

Tozo added that under the state of emergency and the declaration of general mobilization, city residents are taking to the streets to protect their neighborhoods from attacks, stressing: “As the Hasakah City Council, we are doing everything we can to meet the needs of the residents.”

Distribution of Bread Across the City

He explained that bread is being distributed throughout all neighborhoods of the city, noting that some neighborhoods have not yet received bread, but it will reach them within hours.

Distribution of Diesel and Regulation of Generator Operations

Tozo pointed out that, in support of the residents protecting the city and to ensure visibility on the roads, diesel fuel has been distributed to generators to operate for 14 hours.

He added that, under the direction of the City Council, the generator committee has been instructed to continue operating generators during evening hours until morning.

Water Supply Through Tankers

Tozo noted that there were difficulties during the first days in meeting residents’ water needs due to challenges in accessing water sources; however, residents’ needs are currently being met through water tankers.

Meeting Needs and High Morale

Concluding his remarks, Farouq Tozo said: “Despite the declaration of general mobilization, all needs are being met as much as possible, and the morale of the people remains high.”
