Sources within Hamas told Al Arabiya/Al Hadath that the three bodies were found east of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza, and that preparations are underway for their potential transfer to Israeli authorities later in the day.

According to the same sources, one of the bodies belongs to Colonel Asaf Hamami, an Israeli officer whose death had previously been reported.

Last Friday, October 26, Gaza witnessed a severe Israeli escalation in which more than 100 Palestinians were killed, following Israel’s announcement that three bodies it had earlier received from Hamas did not belong to the Israeli hostages captured during the October 7, 2023 attack.

Under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, Israel is to return the bodies of 15 Palestinians who died during the war for each Israeli body handed over by Hamas, bringing the total to 225 Palestinian bodies.
