Regions across North and East Syria witnessed intensified ISIS cell activity during October, ranging from bombings to armed assaults, reflecting the group’s ongoing threat in the area. The following are details documented by ANHA Agency:

ISIS Activities Across North and East Syria

October 2: ISIS mercaeny targeted an SDF military vehicle on the al-Ma’izila road in northern Raqqa, injuring two fighters.

October 5: An ISIS-planted landmine exploded under an SDF vehicle in al-Muhaymida, western Deir ez-Zor, lightly injuring one fighter.

October 7: ISIS gunmen opened fire on a Deir ez-Zor Civil Council vehicle between al-Muhaymida and al-Ma’amal roundabout, injuring the driver.

October 11: Two ISIS mercenaries on a motorcycle attacked an Internal Security checkpoint in al-Kasra, western Deir ez-Zor. Armed clashes ensued with no casualties reported.

October 13: ISIS gangs on a motorcycle opened fire on an SDF vehicle in Tell al-Saman, northern Raqqa, killing one fighter and injuring another.

October 15: An ISIS gang on a motorcycle attacked an Internal Security checkpoint in al-Karama, eastern Raqqa, killing two civilians before being killed himself.

The same day, ISIS cells fired an RPG at a Deir ez-Zor Military Council post in al-Bahra, leading to clashes without reported casualties.

ISIS mercenaries also opened fire on another Deir ez-Zor Military Council post in al-Sha’fa and fled; no injuries were reported.

October 16: ISIS mercenaries launched an RPG at an Internal Security Forces checkpoint in Dhiban, eastern Deir ez-Zor; the attack was repelled.

October 17: ISIS mercenaries fired on shops in al-Bahra after the owner refused to pay “zakat” to the group, then burned the local Civil Council building and attacked another military post in al-Sousa, wounding one fighter.

October 19: Gunmen on a motorcycle attacked an Anti-Crime Unit vehicle in al-Muhaymida, western Deir ez-Zor, wounding four officers.

October 20: Two ISIS mercenaries landmine attacks in Deir ez-Zor—one in al-Hasan, another on the al-Muhaymida bridge—led to martyrdom of four SDF fighters and wounded five others.

October 24: A landmine planted by ISIS damaged an SDF vehicle in al-Muhaymida. The same day, ISIS set fire to a tent belonging to the Economic and Agriculture Council in al-Sousa, meant for a pomegranate festival.

October 29: Two ISIS mercenaries on a motorcycle attacked an oil tanker in Tayyeb al-Fal, northern Deir ez-Zor, injuring the driver and damaging the truck.

In total, the 18 attacks in October resulted in the martyrdom of five SDF fighters, injuries to ten others, four Internal Security members wounded, and the deaths of two civilians with two more injured.

Since the start of the year, ISIS mercenaries have carried out 202 attacks across North and East Syria, most of them in Deir ez-Zor countryside.

In comparison, during September, ISIS carried out 12 attacks, led to martyrdom 21 SDF fighters and wounding nine, along with two civilians injured.
