General Security abducts 2 young men from Afrin residents in Aleppo

Members of the "General Security" affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government carried out the abduction of two young men from displaced Afrin residents in the city of Aleppo, without presenting clear charges against them.

Local sources reported that members of the "General Security" affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government abducted two young men on August 5: Basel Salah Kadro from the village of Omar Semo in the Sharan subdistrict, and Ali Janidan Ahmad Muhammad, a resident of the occupied city of Afrin.

The arrest took place while they were in the city of Aleppo, and they were traveling in a silver-colored Verna car, according to sources close to their families. They were initially taken to the Aziziyeh police station in Aleppo city, without knowing the main reasons or any charges for their arrest. There are growing concerns about the increase in arbitrary arrests targeting Kurdish youth.

Recently, there has been a rise in incitement, sedition, and hate speech by parties believed to be affiliated with the Syrian Transitional Government, whether on social media or through some mosques linked to the Ministry of Religious Endowments.
