General Command of YPJ calls on Syrian women to join defense ranks 

The speeches continue at the Women’s Consultative Forum, which is being held in the city of Hasaka under the slogan “Let’s Build a Democratic Syria Together.” Rohilat Afrin delivered a speech in which she commemorated all the martyrs of the revolution, particularly those from the recent phases in Shahba, Aleppo, Manbij, and the fierce battles at Tishrin Dam. She renewed the pledge of vengeance and victory for the revolution.

On behalf of all Syrian women of various backgrounds and sects, she sent warm greetings to the female fighters on the front lines of Tishrin Dam and Qereqozaqê.

Rohilat Afrin noted that Syria, the Middle East, and the world, especially North and East Syria, are going through an important and pivotal stage where Syrian women will achieve freedom through the figure of the free woman. She added, “We are sending our messages to all women in this session, emphasizing the need to eliminate the patriarchal and jihadist mentality.”

Rohilat Afrin highlighted the resistance shown by the fighters of the Women’s Protection Units and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), stating, “The fighting is concentrated in North and East Syria alone, which means this is an attempt to eliminate women's achievements.”

She affirmed, “If we want to live in a safe country, women must turn to self-defense before anything else.”

Rohilat emphasized, “With the same mentality that governs Syria once again, it is clear that we are facing another extermination. The path for women is self-defense. As the Women’s Protection Units and the SDF, if we cannot protect ourselves, we will face the most dangerous attacks. Every woman whose heart beats for freedom must fight and protect her region and homeland.”

Rohilat Afrin reiterated her call for women to adopt the path of self-defense in the face of severe attacks, affirming that the resistance at Tishrin Dam is honorable and that all women must join the ranks of self-defense and protect their homes.
