"As a result of the Iranian authorities' practices and unjust sentences against journalists and activists, the latest of which was issued about two weeks ago, when the authorities sentenced journalist Bakhshan Azizi and activist Sharifeh Mohammadi to death for doing their journalistic work defending the right and conveying the truth.
Following this, we issued a statement condemning these unjust sentences that will undermine the profession of media and journalism, whether in Iran or elsewhere. We support journalists in all countries of the world and stand by their humanitarian work.
