The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Barzeh neighborhood and the Hara al-Hammam area in Damascus experienced flooding due to the rising water level of the nearby Yazid River. The floodwaters extended into the orchards of Barzeh and parts of the Qaboun area.

Observatory sources stated that water seeped into several civilian homes, causing material damage and sparking concern and resentment among residents. They issued urgent appeals to the relevant authorities for immediate intervention to pump out the water and prevent further deterioration of the situation.

Several neighborhoods and streets in Damascus have experienced flooding and water closures due to heavy rainfall in recent days. This has disrupted traffic and exacerbated the suffering of residents, particularly in areas with inadequate drainage systems.

The recurrence of such incidents during the rainy season reflects deficiencies in infrastructure and the inefficiency of drainage systems. This exacerbates the damage with each storm and increases residents' fears of a repeat of the same scenario in the future.
