Depriving 14,500 male and female students of education
14,500 male and female students in 68 schools in Shahba and Afrin Canton were deprived of education, as a result of the siege imposed by Damascus government forces on the Canton.
Due to the siege imposed by the Damascus government on Shahba, and the loss of basic materials, especially fuel, the Education Body issued a circular yesterday in which it decided to suspend school hours in the schools and institutes of the martyr Vian Amara in the district.
Suspension of school hours led to the closure of 68 schools and institutes, thus depriving 14,500 male and female students from studying.
The Education Body in Shahba Canton is trying to find alternatives to school hours, through distance education via the Internet, until the siege is lifted and a solution to the problem of lack of fuel is found.
