Death toll in Gaza rises to 53,000 over Israeli attacks
The number of casualties from Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip has risen to around 53,000 people since October 7, 2023, as the region continues to suffer from dire humanitarian conditions, with many victims still trapped under the rubble.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that 27 people were killed and 85 others were injured as a result of ongoing Israeli bombardments that targeted various areas in the Strip over the past 24 hours.
In its statement, the ministry reported that since the resumption of Israeli military operations on March 18, 2,678 Palestinians have been killed and 7,308 others wounded.
The ministry also confirmed that the total number of Palestinian fatalities since October 7, 2023, has reached 52,787, in addition to 119,349 injuries.
It pointed out that the humanitarian situation in the Strip is critical, with many victims still under the debris, in the streets, and unreachable by ambulance and civil defense teams due to the ongoing destruction.
Local and international calls for de-escalation continue amid growing concern over the humanitarian crisis and urgent needs of those affected in the Gaza Strip.
