DEIR-EZ-ZOR

One of the most important proposals and plans that came out of the conference “Enhancing Security and Stability towards Developing and Consolidating Participation in Deir ez-Zor,” during the month of December 2023, is improving the health situation in Deir ez-Zor.

DAA through the Deir ez-Zor Council Health Body opened today the Al-Shafah Medical Hospital to provide more health care to the people of the town of Al-Shafah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Hundreds of people from the region, tribal sheikhs and notables, members of local councils and civil institutions participated in the opening.

The people of the town of Al-Shafah had begun building the hospital three years ago. The hospital consists of three floors, each floor having an area of 700 square metres.

During the opening, the co-chair of the Health Office of the Civil Council in the Eastern Region, Meshaal Al-Sultan, welcomed the attendees.

For his part, the co-chair of the Health Body in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council, Thaer Al-Kreidi, said: “I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the construction of this great edifice from the people of the Al-Shafah area, and we promise them to provide more support to the health sector.

In turn, Abdullah Al-Salem, a resident of the town of Al-Shafah, said: “We thank everyone who contributed to the opening of this hospital.”

He hoped that "humanitarian organizations would look with interest at this humanitarian service project."

The Health Office of the Eastern Region Council has provided the hospital, as a first step, with a quantity of simple medicines and first aid, including antibiotics, serums, and diabetic insulin, in addition to providing it with furniture and beds.

The departments that will be opened in the hospital are scheduled to be announced during the next few days by the Health Office of the Eastern Region Council.”

It is worth noting that the people of the town of Al-Shafah built another hospital, but it lacks significant support from the Administration to be fully equipped.”
