CPT: Turkey launched at least 18 attacks on Kurdistan region’s territories

The American organization (CPT) reported that the occupying Turkish state has carried out at least 18 military attacks on the territories of the Kurdistan Region since a group of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) fighters disposed of their weapons in response to Abdullah Ocalan’s call for "Peace and Democratic Society."

According to the statement, despite the symbolic gesture of weapon destruction by the HPG, Turkish attacks have continued against the Mediya Defense Zones. The statement further highlighted that between July 1 and July 31, 2025, "Turkey carried out at least 18 attacks on the Kurdistan Region’s lands."

It added, "Turkish forces began a new ground operation on July 29, continuing their military activities, causing damage to agricultural fields and restricting the movement of civilians." The statement mentioned that 17 of these attacks took place in the Amadiya region of Duhok province, while the other attack targeted the Sulaymaniyah province via a drone strike.

The organization also noted that on July 22, residents of the village of Dirgil Musa Bag attempted to return to their homes, but Turkish soldiers prevented them from doing so. According to the report, the total number of Turkish attacks on southern Kurdistan’s territories since the beginning of 2025 has reached 1696 military strikes, resulting in the deaths of nine civilians.
