Baghdad and Hawler confirmed today that Iraqi territory will not be used as a launchpad for attacks on neighboring countries, according to statements issued by both parties.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani and Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani emphasized during a phone call their rejection of attacks on several Iraqi cities, including the Kurdistan Region, and stressed that Iraqi territory will not be allowed to serve as a base for attacking neighboring states, according to official statements from both sides.

In a related development, the Iranian Defense Council announced today that Iranian forces would target any facilities in the Federal Kurdistan Region if Kurdish opposition groups attempt to infiltrate Iran.
