Women from the city of Tirbespiyê affirmed their commitment to strengthening the resistance and the revolution of “Women, Life, Freedom,” and to protecting and preserving the achievements that have been realized in Rojava.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 every year, women of Tirbespiyê from different components announced the escalation of their struggle and resistance.

In this context, Ayal Shamoun, from the Syriac community, explained that women have a pivotal role in society and are capable of standing firm in the face of all difficulties.

Ayal Shamoun congratulated all women around the world on the arrival of March 8 and expressed her hope that women everywhere will obtain their rights.

For her part, Kurdish woman Najat Suleiman congratulated the mothers and wives of the martyrs on the occasion of March 8, saying: “Our hope is that the Kurds in the four parts of Kurdistan will achieve their unity on this occasion and become one hand.”

Najat affirmed that, as mothers of martyrs, they will stand with women’s power and support it until the end.

In turn, Hadiya Shamo from the Yazidi community explained that women in Rojava are going through a sensitive phase. Despite this, she stressed: “We will protect the achievements of our revolution with the philosophy of ‘Women, Life, Freedom’ and celebrate International Women’s Day.”

Hadiya Shamo pointed to the resistance shown by women in Rojava, saying: “Women are pioneers of the Rojava revolution and continue their resistance to this day. The resistance of Rojava’s women has become a model for all women in the world and a response to authoritarianism.”

In conclusion, Hadiya Shamo called on women of the world to unite and safeguard the achievements of March 8, as the branches of the women’s revolution have spread everywhere.
