Amuda demonstration in support of South, East Kurdistan affirms Kurdish unity

Under the slogan "The time has come for Kurdish unity… South and East Kurdistan are not alone," residents of Amuda in Jazira region held a massive demonstration on Wednesday in solidarity with South and East Kurdistan in the face of attacks targeting them, and they called for the immediate release of prisoners held in the Interim Government's prisons and demanded guarantees for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The demonstration was called for by Kurdish political parties in Amuda to show solidarity with South Kurdistan, which is witnessing repeated attacks by factions loyal to the Iranian regime, targeting the security and stability of its people.

The participants raised banners with "We demand an immediate end to the repeated attacks on the Kurdistan Region," "We stand with the Kurds in Rojhelat against oppression and discrimination," "Freedom for Rojhelat," "The dignity of the Kurds in Rojhelat is part of the dignity of all peoples yearning for freedom," "Southeast, Northwest Kurdistan," "Unity is our strength," "The time has come for Kurdish unity," "Unity is the path to success," and "All solidarity with Kurdistan, land and people, in the face of treacherous attacks" written on.

The demonstration began in front of the Women's Roundabout in the eastern part of the city and proceeded along the city's main street. During the march, demonstrators carried flags and symbols representing the Kurdish people.

Other banners called for the immediate release of prisoners held in the prisons of the Syrian Interim Government, with slogans such as, "A prisoner is a human being with the right to life and freedom," "Prison walls cannot block the light of truth," "Behind bars, hearts beat with dignity," and "Freedom is not a dream, but a right for every prisoner."

The demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Long live the resistance of South Kurdistan," "One, one, one, the Kurdish people are one," "Rojava and Rojhilat… Kurdistan is one indivisible homeland," "Long live the unity of the Kurdish people," and other slogans demanding the release of prisoners and guaranteeing the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

After reaching the Martyr Jihad Square in the city center, the demonstrators held a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs of freedom. Then, Arashk Baravi; the spokesperson for the Jazira Intellectuals Union, said, "We have come out today in this demonstration to express and affirm our support for South Kurdistan in the face of the attacks targeting our innocent people there, which have caused them great harm. We condemn these attacks and affirm our complete solidarity and support for the Kurdish people in all parts of Kurdistan, and we also declare our support for East Kurdistan."

Baravi pointed out that the unity of the Kurdish people is the foundation for building Kurdish national unity in all four parts of Kurdistan, concluding by emphasizing that the current stage requires unifying ranks and voices, and strengthening the Kurdish position.

The demonstration ended with slogans affirming the unity of the Kurdish people.
