AKP, MHP hold joint meeting to discuss Imrali visit

Turkey’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) are set to hold a joint meeting tomorrow, Thursday, to discuss the Imrali visit and the meeting with leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The AKP and MHP are preparing an important meeting tomorrow to discuss the upcoming visit of the “National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy” committee to Imrali to meet leader Abdullah Ocalan, as part of the “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” process.

Özgür Özal, head of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), said his party will participate in the meeting at the Parliament building, stressing the importance of discussing the visit jointly with committee members.

The AKP announced it will participate with a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of its parliamentary bloc, Afkan Ala, alongside Bloc Chairman Abdullah Güler. The meeting is scheduled for 15:00 tomorrow at the Turkish Parliament.

This move comes after the committee announced its readiness to visit Imrali, a step considered one of the key developments in efforts to resume the dialogue process.
