7 days of 'Enduring Security' operation: achievements in combating ISIS cells
The joint forces of the 'Enduring Security' operation succeeded in arresting 79 mercenaries from ISIS cells and seizing a large quantity of weapons. They also investigated 17 women involved in torture and assisting the cells in al-Hol camp, as well as over 200 villages, towns, and cities in the eastern countryside of Hasaka, including a 70 km stretch along the Iraq-Syria border.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Internal Security Forces, and Women's Protection Units (YPJ) launched the 'Enduring Security' operation on November 6 to search villages, towns, and cities in the eastern countryside of Hasaka and al-Hol camp, targeting ISIS cells and their collaborators.
During the 7-day operation, over 200 villages in the southern and northern countryside of al-Hol area were targeted, including the 70 km stretch from the Iraq-Syria border and the surrounding desert areas, as well as the eastern countryside of Hasaka city.
The operation involved 5,000 fighters, including members of the SDF, Internal Security Forces, YPJ, and Internal Security Forces- Women.
The forces managed to arrest 79 mercenaries from ISIS cells, seize a large amount of weapons, including grenades and mines, and investigate 17 women involved in torture and assisting the mercenary cells. Numerous electronic devices facilitating communication between the cells and their collaborators in the camp were confiscated, along with ISIS symbols and flags.
Additionally, the operation resulted in updating the database of around 40,000 camp residents.
