2161 people killed most of which are since December 8
At least 2161 people have been killed, in the cities and countryside of the Sahel, Homs and Hama, since the fall of the Baathist regime on December 8, 2024, as a result of massacres, liquidation and revenge, as a result of escalating chaos and insecurity in the areas of the Damascus Authority's control.

The cities and countryside of the Syrian coast, Homs and Hama have witnessed an increase in the pace of massacres, liquidation and executions, since the fall of the Baathist regime on December 8, 2024, which led to the fall of thousands of civilian victims, including women and children.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented, since December 8, 2024, the killing of at least 2161 people, including 225 in the city of Homs, 422 in Hama, 926 in Lattakia and 588 in Tartous, were liquidated and executed, either on the basis of sectarian and political affiliation, or with individual incidents and others committed by a group of individuals for the purpose of revenge, in the cities and rural areas of the coast, including the massacres that took place last March.
The continuation of crimes and violations without accountability exacerbates the suffering of civilians and devotes a tragic reality threatening to escalate chaos and insecurity in Syria, which requires immediate intervention to hold the perpetrators accountable.
