2 ISIS mercenaries arrested in al-Hol

The Syrian Democratic Forces' Military Operations Command (TOL) units arrested two ISIS mercenaries during a security operation in al-Hol city in al-Jazera canton

The People's Protection Units (YPG) Media Center today issued a statement regarding the arrest of two ISIS mercenaries by its forces in the city of al-Hol in the Hasaka countryside in al-Jazera Canton. The statement read:

"On August 9, 2025, the Military Operations Units (TOL) of the Syrian Democratic Forces, with support from the International Coalition, carried out a security operation in the city of al-Hol in the Hasaka countryside, targeting an ISIS cell active in transporting and managing the organization's financial and logistical resources."

The center added: "The operation resulted in the arrest of two members of the cell: Saad Mukhlif al-Hassi (Abu Saif) and Muhammad Shaker Mukhlif."

The center emphasized that "this operation is part of the ongoing efforts of the Syrian Democratic Forces to pursue ISIS members, disrupt their activities, and ensure the security and stability of the region from terrorist threats."
