​​​​​​​AANES: Recent attacks indicate failure of Turkey's project in Syria

The Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that his country's forces would target infrastructure facilities in Iraq and Syria.

AANES issued a statement on the recent Turkish statements.

It said: "These threats and targeting of our regions have a revenge aspect after the failure of Turkey's project and its clear agendas in Syria."

The text of the statement read: “Once again, with its insistence on targeting our regions, Turkey, through the words of its officials, comes out with the language of threats and intimidation against our regions, and goes towards legitimizing its attacks against our people by talking about these regions and the institutions of their people as legitimate targets for Turkey, this language comes after our people foiled filthy plans of Turkey and the Syrian regime, in the areas of our people in Deir ez-Zor.

These threats come after the attack that happened in Ankara, as Turkey forgets the extent of the tightening of its borders with Syria and what it does daily against young people who go to Europe through Turkey on this basis. The border is witnessing of killing, assault, and beating. We do not understand how it is possible to cross, and Turkey itself is the one tightening the measures and placing high barriers on the border with Syria!

Turkey continues its narrative about what happened recently in Ankara and links it to our regions, and this claim is a major Turkish evasion of Turkish public opinion and its ignoring of its internal issues, including the Kurdish issue.

We strongly reject these Turkish threats and the language of its officials, we in AANES affirm the following:

1- These threats against our regions have a revenge aspect after the failure of Turkey’s project in Syria.

2- These threats are a deception of Turkish public opinion, by diverting it towards our regions and talking about hypothetical dangers, as today in the speech of the Turkish Foreign Minister.

3- These assaults against our regions negatively affect on combating ISIS.

4- No one to benefit from these threats at all, and perpetuating a state of chaos is a kind of obstruction of stability and Syrian national consensus, which is a major goal for Turkey.

5- Targeting infrastructure facilities is aggressive behavior amounts to war crimes

The international community, the international coalition, the United Nations, human rights and humanitarian institutions, as well as Russia, are required today to take effective and deterrent positions against this Turkish ambition to impose new balances on Syria, but through our regions.”

Since the early morning hours, the Turkish occupation army has been launching attacks by warplanes and drones against vital and service facilities in Hasaka.
