​​​​​​​KDP prevents Afrin families from reaching camps

The Violations Documentation Center in North and East Syria stated that 4 families of the people of Afrin, who were forcibly displaced, recently arrived in Başûr Kurdistan, and they are living in the open in a tragic situation near the border between the Sulaymaniyah and Hawler regions, after they were prevented from reaching the city of Hawler, which is under the control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (PDK), to reside in refugee camps.

According to the center, the tragedy of these families began after the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the city of Afrin in 2018, when these families, consisting of 20 people, including women and children, were displaced from their homes and ended up in Başûr Kurdistan, within the Arbat camp in Sulaymaniyah Governorate.

The center quoted Nouri Rashid, one of those displaced people, that the Arbat camp administration told the families that there was no place for them there and that they must go to Hawler. However, they were denied access to Hawler City.

Nouri Bashir confirmed to the Violations Documentation Center that they have been out in the open for days, and that their situation is very bad.

While Adel Mahmoud said: “We have children suffering from a lack of food, and we are here without any help".

Mawluda Suleyman, is one of them, and is desperately asking for help, as she says that her daughter, Slava, is sick and needs urgent treatment in the hospital.

Institutions affiliated with the dominant Barzani family in Başûr provide aid to the mercenaries and their families that occupied Afrin in place of the families that were forcibly displaced from Afrin in 2018.
